Niche edit
A niche edit places your link into an article that already exists and already ranks. How it differs from a guest post, and when it is the better choice.

A niche edit is a link placed into an article that already exists on a publisher's site. Instead of commissioning a new piece, your link is added to content that is already published, already indexed, and in many cases already ranking. The term curated link describes the same thing.
How it differs from a guest post
A guest post starts at zero: new article, no history, no rankings, no existing traffic. A niche edit steps into an article that has all of that. The trade-off is control. You choose the target article from what exists rather than shaping a piece around your message.
When it is the better choice
When the existing article already ranks for something close to your topic, a niche edit inherits that context immediately. It is also faster, because nothing has to be written and approved. When you need your message told a particular way, a guest post is the right format instead.
What to check before booking
Whether the article genuinely fits your topic, whether it has traffic of its own, and whether the link reads as if it belonged there from the start. An insertion that is obviously bolted on adds nothing and is the most common weakness of cheap niche edits.
The honest limitation
An old article that never ranked does not become valuable because a link was added. The value comes from the article, not from the edit.
