Backlink

A backlink is a link from one website to another. What makes a backlink valuable, what Google actually evaluates, and how to tell a good placement from a wasted one.

A backlink is a link from one website to another. Search engines read backlinks as references: if a page many sources point to, it is more likely to be treated as relevant for a topic. Backlinks remain one of the strongest ranking factors, and they are the only one you cannot create on your own site.

What separates a good backlink from a wasted one

Not the number. A single link from a publication with genuine readers and a matching topic moves more than fifty links from sites nobody visits. Three criteria decide it. The publisher has real organic traffic. The topic overlaps with yours. And the link sits inside an article a person would actually read.

How long does a backlink last?

Longer than most buyers expect, if it is placed editorially. In the Linkbroker catalogue, roughly 7,800 offers guarantee unlimited standing time and another 3,400 guarantee between twelve and sixty months (as of September 2026). A placement is bought once and keeps working, unlike advertising that stops the day the budget stops.

How fast does one go live?

Across all offers in the catalogue, the median delivery time is two days, and 80 percent publish within one to five days (as of September 2026).

The honest limitation

Backlinks do not fix a page that does not deserve to rank. If the target page answers the search worse than the pages above it, links will not carry it past them for long. They amplify relevance, they do not replace it.

How this works on the marketplace

Traffic, topical fit, link attribute, and price are visible before you book. See the catalogue.
